Beauty: All Purpose Beauty Hack

I've just recently discovered the amazing qualities of Vaseline, so I wanted to share how I use them. Below are three ways I incorporate this amazing petroleum jelly in my beauty routine.

1. LIP BALM
I discovered this hack when I was at the dentist's office getting my regularly scheduled cleaning. I kept touching my lips, so the hygienist decided to offer me some Vaseline. Oh my gosh, my lips had never been so happy. Now, I don't even use my lip balms anymore. Why bother when this product is the most moisturizing balm I've ever used!

2. EYE GEL
If you read about how I spent my Valentine's Day, you know that I got samples of the new NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation. I had similar issues as with the NARS Sheer Glow Foundation. It was then that I realized, it wasn't the foundation that was the problem; it was my skin. The skin under my eyes and along the sides of my nose was quite dry, and therefore, the pores were emphasized whenever I would put liquid foundation. It just so happened that NARS foundation was my skin's mortal enemy. I started using Vaseline around the area and I can't express enough how grateful I am for this miracle of a product. I would eventually get The Body Shop's Aloe Vera Eye Defense, but knowing how lazy I am, it might take until next month until I can drag myself to the mall to purchase it. So, for now, Vaseline is my best friend.

3. MOISTURIZER
You know that belief that moisturizing is the key to looking youthful? Well, Vaseline is the answer to most of your moisturizing needs. When my time of the month is right around the corner, the corners of my mouth becomes very dry and quite honestly, a source for more stress. Vaseline is perfect for fixing this nightmare. I also have random dry patches on my left bicep. I have no clue how or when they got there, but Vaseline keeps them hydrated and less irritating to me.

If you'd like to know how else Vaseline could be useful to you, read this article from Allure. The article states that Vaseline is actually non-comedogenic, so you can even use it to moisturize your face. Well, I personally wouldn't go that far, but I wouldn't mind using it on certain areas of my face.

Let me know in the comments if you use Vaseline and how you use it!

  1. I love vaseline. It's such a great all around product. I have used it under my eyes, dry areas of my body and obviously as a cheap (and effective) lip balm. :) Thanks for the mention. I'm really glad you got inspired by my photos. You did a great job. xx
