Beauty: Simple Cleansing Micellar Water

There was a big hype about micellar water so I thought I'd jump on the bandwagon. As I could not get my hands on the Garnier Micellar Water, I decided to try the Simple Cleansing Micellar Water. After removing my eye makeup with my Clinique Take the Day Off Makeup Remover, I would use the micellar water on a cotton pad to remove the rest of my face makeup before finally washing my face with the Burt's Bees Radiance Facial Cleanser

According to the Ulta website, the Simple Cleansing Micellar Water thoroughly "removes make-up, dirt, impurities; instantly hydrates skin and no residue." On lazy days, I think this was enough to remove my makeup, just like if I was using a makeup wipe. However, I did not believe that it removed my makeup completely. It didn't dry my skin, so I guess it did hydrate my skin enough.

Overall, after using two bottles of this product, I don't think I'd be repurchasing it again. When I would use it, I noticed that I was essentially just doing a double cleanse, which I can do with whatever products I have left in my bathroom. As I am currently on a strict budget, I'm quite relieved to know that this product isn't essential in my night time routine.

I also wanted to mention briefly that this product was all-natural and definitely gets my approval on that account.

Ingredients:
Water (Aqua), Hexylene Glycol,Glycerin, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) FlowerExtract, Panthenol, Niacinamide, Sodium AscorbylPhosphate, Peg-6 Caprylic/Capric Glycerides, DmdmHydantoin, Cetrimonium Chloride, TetrasodiumEdta, Citric Acid, Potassium Chloride, SodiumChloride, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate.

Are you using micellar water as part of your routine?

  1. I hate the Simple Micellar water too, just like your experience I had to use it twice to remove everything. It also left my skin feeling really dry afterwards - such a shame as well, wanted to enjoy it!

    1. they're pretty good, but not quite the quality I wanted them to be.. also, they're not all-natural as I originally thought so I had to make sure I looked at the ingredients before buying anything.

  3. I haven't given miceller waters much of a go yet as I prefer to use hot cloth cleansers to get everything off in one go, atleast you have one less step now! :)

    1. I have a hot cloth cleanser from Botanics, but I don't even use the cloth.. I just use a damp cotton pad and sweep it across my face to remove the makeup, and then wash with my cleanser.

  4. I really need to delve into the micellar water trend. I keep hearing so many great things about them and can't wait to see how they rack up against normal makeup removers.
